Video: 'The price of ridding society of bad is always high, love Daddy.'

July 25: A  letter from  future CIA director, Richard Helms, when he was an intelligence operative during WWII, to his young son.  Helms got into  Hitler's chancellery in Berlin and took a piece of the Fuehrer's stationery…  he wrote the letter to his son, Dennis, saying in part  "The man who might have written on this card once controlled Europe - three short years ago when you were born. Today he is dead, his memory despised, his country in ruins."  He dated the letter "V-E day" for May 8, 1945.
