Introduction

Unfortunately, USA2Net is unable to offer automatic setup for Apple computers, however, the following sections will demonstrate how to configure your Apple computer for use with our services.

Select your computer type:

[MAC Configuration]            [iMAC Configuration]

MAC Configuration

The  following screen shots will show you how to set up PPP  for the Macintosh with OS 8. First, click on your Apple  menu, then Control Panels, and then click on PPP.

You will see the following:

Click on Options, then click on  the Redialing tab and you will see this:

The information here is strictly optional, leaving it as it is will be fine. Click on the Connection tab and you will see this screen:

Place check marks in the boxes just  like you see above and then click on the Protocol tab and you will see this:

Again, make your settings look exactly like what you  see above and then click on OK . At this  point make sure your username and password are entered correctly and then click on Connect. PPP will connect you to USA2net!

Open the Apple Menu. Select the control panels, and click TCP/IP.

Make sure your screen matches the one above  with the correct numbers, and also make sure PPP is selected under Connect Via. Close the TCP/IP control panel, and if it prompts you to save the changes, click Save.

Go back under the Apple Menu, into the Control Panels and this time select Remote Access. This is the screen  you will see:

The only options to fill in is your username in all small letters, your password and your local dialup  number. Now, go under the Menu at the top called RemoteAccess. Select Modem.

On the next screen that comes up, select internal 56k iMac modem. Click OK. Back at the main screen, press connect. If all is setup correctly, Remote Access will dial into USA2net and  establish the connection. Once that is done, this is what you will see:

You are now connected to USA2net!
