"Page Cannot be Displayed" Errors in Internet Explorer

When you receive this error message, it means that you are either having a problem with your internet connection or that you are not connected to the internet.

First, double-check to make sure that you are indeed connected to the internet. Is the connection icon showing in your task bar? Are there other internet-based programs like AIM or ICQ running? If you are connected and still get this error message, try to access a different website - does it load correctly?

If you find that you're not connected to the internet, try redialing to re-establish your connection.

"No Dial Tone" errors when dialing into USA2net

This error message means literally what it says - there is no dial tone present when the modem tries to dial into USA2net. To correct this, first check to make sure that the phone line is not in use by another computer or person. Also verify that the phone wire leading from the computer's modem into the phone jack is plugged in securely on both ends, and that the phone wire hasn't become damaged. If you have an in-line phone surge protection, check connections on that as well.

If you still receive this error after checking these things, restart your computer and try again. If you still get the error message after restarting, check your phone outlet by connecting a telephone directly to that outlet. Do you get a static-free dial tone when listening to the handset? If so, then bypass the surge protector - connect the computer phone wire directly into the wall outlet and try dialing again. Does it work now?

USA2net Dialup Number is Long Distance

USA2Net currently services most of Lake County. If you can dial a 759 exchange, then you can connect with USA2net as your local Internet provider.

If the phone number in the Connection Dialog Box shows up as long distance and you believe that it should not be, then the Area Code may be incorrectly setup within your computer. To check this, select your Operating System below:

[Windows 9x/Me/2000]            [Windows XP]
